I went on a first date with a guy in my criminal justice class. It was Christmas time, so he took me to a drive-through Christmas light park that was in the middle of no where. On the way, he started telling me how he liked to put on his moms makeup and personal garments. Keep in mind I was in the middle of no where and had no way to get home (there wasnt even a phone handy to call for a rescue). I just sat plastered to the passengers side door until we got home and I could do a jump and roll technique any air-borne military member would have been proud of.

Regarding 18 games Ridiculous! As a fan I cross my fingers hoping my teams best players make it through the already grueling year without an injury Now you want to add two more games Ridiculous! 16 is the perfect # of games do not mess with perfection! Plus you make comparisons to previous eras statistically irrelevant.The only area i agree with the owners about is the out of control contracts for Rookies. There absolutely needs to be a Rookie pay scale with measured increases tied to profits. That savings in money than can be happily split between owners and players and everyone winsw. Actually, a % of those savings should be put into retirement Health Care for all players who have played for 5 years or more RETROACTIVELY!!! It is one of the biggest injustices Ive seen in my life the way the NFL has treated past players who developed health issues due to their playing time. LET THEM PLAY!

I totally agree with Rich. Soccer is kak-dull. And the diving is ridiculous. That said every 4 years I become a huge soccer fan (okay, only 6 so make that avid). Theres something about the World Cup that turns me on to soccerball. I dont give a crap about premiership football, Seria A or whatever. In fact I find most sport pointless except for big international rugby (now theres a sport) but then the world cup comes around and suddenly Im into it.

I agree self publishing has drastically changed the entertainment industry. Bloggers have changed the traditional concept of magazines. When I look at a magazine in the check-out line these days, I think thats old news! The music bloggers drop anywhere from 10-100 new songs/articles a day how can anyone keep up?

Peer reviewing is when one is reviewed by their peers. In most forms of academia, of which writing in quickly becoming, anybody can call themselves a writer, but it means little unless others being to call them a writer as well, particularly their peers, who are other writers. Therefore they are trying to get their work looked at (or at least noticed) by other writers to get reviewed so they can say they are a writer. Its your classic Im a writer because Stephen King says so! scenario - exactly the same way as you see on the back of DVDs, games, and books. The only difference is what they are advertising is themselves, to themselves. Its getting harder to do - its easier to get into writing thanks to blogging, vanity press, and self-publishing, but harder to get peer-reviewed because this just means more people are trying to squeeze through the door at once. So, they are looking at other methods of validations - such as sales and popularity.

The government is like a magician distracting us with one hand and doing the dirty deed with the other. Somehow the oil companies have managed to get people in high places on their bad side and then get blamed for what is strictly a monetary phenomenon. The oil companies are saddled with an abundance of regulations and extra taxes and must navigate an extroadinary maze of obstacles to find and get that oil to the gas pump and other destinations. When I see all the cars on the road and the tremendous amount of fuel they are using, I am amazed and thankful to the oil companies for all they do to supply us with that oil. I really dont hold much hope for our country, as I believe that we have nearly reached the end of our republic/democracy as predicted over 200 years ago by Alexander Tyler.But maybe enough self-proclaimed experts like eyeswideshut will start using their intelligence to learn about free markets and the dynamics of liberty. And maybe we can get this freight-train stopped before it runs off the cliff.
